Set up charge $49 Connection fee applies. You will need to either purchase the Bigpipe modem or provide your own compatible modem or router.

The Bigpipe modem is available for purchase outright on a leave-anytime plan at the special rate of $99. The Bigpipe modem is free with a 12 month contract.

If you get a Bigpipe modem you will be charged $14 for shipping.

If fibre is being installed for the first time the installation process will involve a technician coming to your place to physically connect a fibre optic cable from the roadside to your premise.

Other requirements We only accept credit card or debit card for automatic payment on a monthly basis.
Traffic management We have a traffic management policy which allows us to prioritize time-sensitive traffic (e.g. VOIP and gaming) over non time-sensitive traffic (e.g. peer to peer) at busy times. See our no data cap FAQ for more details. We have not currently implemented this but may choose to do so in the future.
Fair use We do not have a Fair Use policy.
Effects on other services Bigpipe is naked broadband so you will lose your landline. If you have a monitored alarm, medical alarm, fax, or order pay per view movies, these services will no longer work without a landline. If you need those services, Bigpipe is not for you.

Your broadband service requires mains power to operate. If power is not available (e.g. during a local power outage, or your modem has a power outage) the broadband, and any services which run over it, may stop working unless you have battery backup in your home.

Also, if you are using a VOIP voice service using the Bigpipe connection, this will stop working if your broadband connection has an issue. This would prevent you from using it to make calls to emergency services from your VOIP voice service. We would recommend using your mobile phone instead in this situation.

You should check with the provider of any existing services such as fax, security alarms, medical alarms, EFTPOS and pay TV connections to make sure they will operate with this service.

Other charges A standard UFB installation is free. The installation process will involve a technician coming to your place to physically connect a fibre optic cable from the roadside to your premise.

A non-standard installation usually applies if your house is more than 200m from the roadside. In these cases, a price is given upon application.

If you are on a 12 month contract and terminate the service before the end of the 12 month term, there is an Early Termination Fee of $249.

Disputes Information about our consumer complaints process is available here.

Bigpipe is a member of the Telecommunication Dispute Resolution Scheme.

Other information We use carrier-grade NAT. This should not impact most online activities such as streaming video, web browsing and online gaming, but may affect some complex broadband-based services (e.g. personally hosted websites).

Static IP is available for all our plans – please check our Static IP FAQs..
